Sony has launched the all-new Alpha 7R V camera in India, adding to the company’s much-loved roster of Alpha mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras from the company. The Alpha 7R uses an AI unit, which is a first for the Alpha series as a highlight. Take a look at what Sony’s new mirrorless camera has to offer.
Sony Alpha 7R V: specs and features
The Alpha 7R V features a 61.0MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor along with the BIONZ XR image processing engine. It achieves ultra-high sensitivity with an expandable ISO range of 100-32000.
The new AI unit provides precise, wide subject recognition and powers real-time recognition AF (autofocus). It enables human pose estimation and even improves white balance. The camera also supports advanced image stabilization with up to a clearing effect in 8 steps. There is also support for Pixel Shift Multi Shooting, which can detect pixel shifted images and correct them for better composition.
In terms of video recording capabilities, the Alpha 7R V offers 8K recording up to 25
fps and 4K recording for up to 60 fps video recording, 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling. It also enables quiet, vibration-free shooting.
Sony’s new mirrorless camera sports a 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor with a 3.2-
widescreen type for easy photo taking and two CFexpress Type A/SDXC compatible media slots. CFexpress Type A cards are ideal for shooting continuous RAW still images at high speed and recording 4K 120pi movies at high bitrates.
The Alpha 7R V camera also supports 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi, SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 2, as well as USB UVC/UAC streaming. Other features of this amazing camera are selectable RAW options including Lossless RAW for efficient workflow, advanced real-time tracking, high-density 693-point phase-detection AF with up to 10 fps burst with AF/AE tracking, and more. Additionally, it supports touch functionality during playback and shooting.
