Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is here for mid-range smartphones

Qualcomm has introduced a new chipset for mid-range phones as part of its Snapdragon 7 series. It’s the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 mobile platform, which is the successor to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 of the year latest and claims to offer better CPU and GPU performance as well as additional benefits. If you’re confused, the Plus in the name is symbolic of the slightly changed naming scheme where it simply represents an upgraded version (not the minor tweaks) of the existing chipset. Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: Details

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 features a 64-bit Kryo processor (consisting of one Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores) with up to 2.91 GHz clock speeds and offers up to 50% improved performance. The Qualcomm Adreno GPU guarantees twice the graphics performance and 13% higher energy efficiency.

Speaking of which, the chipset comes with the Snapdragon Elite Gaming which introduced gaming-focused features like Automatic variable rate shading (VRS) and new volumetric rendering for more realistic elements of a game. Adreno Frame Motion Engine also increases fps for smooth gameplay.

The focus is on AI with the presence of the Qualcomm AI engine. This ensures twice the AI ​​performance and includes the Qualcomm Sensing Hub (with an AI processor) to utilize AI capabilities in situations such as recognizing user activity and detecting acoustic stage.

For the photography part, there is a Triple ISP Qualcomm Spectra 18 bit, which is all about improving low-light photography, photo capture up to 200MP, video up to 4K at 60fps, and 18-bit RAW photo capture.
